Nothing is more important to AMP Athletics than the safety of our athletes, coaches, families, and friends. As such, we closely following COVID-19 guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and state and local authorities. The CDC just announced their recommendation to cancel or postpone events with 50 or more people for the next 8 weeks, until May 8th.
Based on the new CDC recommendations, AMP will still be holding our regularly scheduled classes. We are currently taking provisions to stay within all guidelines that have been presented to us. We are asking for your help in keeping our numbers down by only sending one parent per student and keeping siblings that are not attending class at home. We would also ask that you remain in your vehicle during classes if possible (unless you are Parent & Tot/Mighty Me). Please, wait until the class prior has been dismissed from the building students will be escorted to and from the front door by staff. Competitive programs please, make sure that you check with the office and/or your head coaches to check on your updated practice schedules. Any student that missed classes during this time period can be schedule as a make up without the 30 day time constraint. All missed classes will be honored during this period.
We believe the new plan is the best option given what we know now. We will continue to keep abreast of the latest developments in this rapidly evolving emergency and keep a positive outlook moving forward in everyone’s best interests.
Thank you for your patience as we all hope this situation will improve.
