AMP Athletics is dedicated to teaching your child in the safest most positive environment possible.  We believe in the sports that we offer and appreciate the qualities that they bring to children.  Please read these policies carefully so that you understand them. Again, our policies and procedures are designed to keep the gym as safe and as fun for our students as possible.

General  Gym Policies

To maintain an atmosphere in which everyone feels comfortable, we ask that certain standards of behavior are followed. Promoting gym etiquette will help everyone using our facility. Following reasonable policies ensures a comfortable, professional environment for everyone.

  • For your convenience we have free wi-fi. 

  • No student is allowed in the gym areas or on any equipment without a gymnastics                 instructor present.

  • No Horseplay, running, or tumbling in the lobby, mezzanine, party room, or hallways, especially in socks.

  • This is a smoke free environment. Thank you in advance for not smoking inside the building!

  • Please keep our home as you would keep your home. Please remind your children to clean up after themselves when they make a mess. If your child spills something and needs assistance cleaning up please ask the front desk for help!

  • No gum, food, or drinks are permitted on the gym floor (Competitive Team Members All-stars, Gymnastics and Pre-team should have reusable water bottles).

  • There is no running, jumping, or tumbling in the lobby or observation areas.

  • Valuable items should not be brought to the gym. AMP Athletics will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • Parents, please come in to drop off and pick up your children. We insist that all children wait inside for their ride.

Payment Policy Information


  • Each student is charged an annual, non-refundable, and non-transferable gym membership fee of, which is due upon enrollment in any AMP Athletics class program. This fee is applicable for the session the student is attending or until the student drops from the program. A re-registration fee of $15.00 will be charged to re-enroll after withdraw from any program. (This is a change in policy beginning 2018 for new students.)  



  • Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Your monthly payment is to ensure your spot in your class and to allow us to keep our classes to a manageable size. If payment is not received by the 15th of the month, a $10 late fee will be assessed. AMP Athletics is now able to automatically withdraw your monthly payment. Please see the staff at the front desk to set up this feature if desired. Payments can also made through our parent portal.  

  • It is not the responsibility of AMP Athletics to remind you that tuition is due, however notices will be posted in the gym and emailed to all students.  

  • Payment may be made by cash, check, money order, Discover, MC, or Visa. Please make checks payable to AMP Athletics.  

  • Checks returned for non-sufficient funds (NSF). Will be charged a $35 processing fee that will be automatically be charged to your account.



  • AMP Athletics does offer family/multi-class discounts. Your first class with the highest tuition rate is billed at full price. All additional classes are discounted $10 per class until the minimum rate of $35 is reached (For example 1st class $55 / 2nd class $45 / 3rd class $35 / 4th class $35). 

  • AMP Athletics also offers a Military discount of $10 with proper credentials.  

Enrollment Policies

Enrollment for classes is a ongoing month-to-month throughout the school year session (August - May). A month is calculated at 4 classes per month; some months your child may receive an extra class. Because of this method, holidays are not prorated.

  • NO REFUNDS or CREDITS are given with the exception of extended illness or injury. Credit Adjustments remain on accounts indefinitely.  NO CASH, CHECK, or CREDIT CARD refunds will be given for missed classes.

  • AMP Athletics has the right to withhold service on any account 60 days past due

Open Enrollment

  • AMP Athletics has an open enrollment policy that allows students to join our program at anytime, as long as there is an available spot in your desired class. If a class is full, you may have your child placed on a waiting list for that class or the first available opening for the same level class. The office will place new students into classes based on the order in which they appear on the wait list.

No-risk trial Enrollment

  • AMP Athletics does offer a one time no-risk trial enrollment (space permitting)! Feel free to come in and try out any class or program.  If after the first class you are not satisfied just notify AMP Athletics within 24 hours and you will not be charged.  However, we are very confident that your child will enjoy any class they try.  Failure to notify AMP Athletics within the 24 hour period will result in enrollment and you will be billed all appropriate fees.

Withdrawal / Cancellation

  • To withdraw from class, a written WITHDRAWAL NOTICE must be submitted NO LATER than 20th of the month prior to withdrawal.  Withdrawal forms can be found at the front desk.  Please note:  You are responsible for payment for your student's classes, weather or not your student attends class.  Until your withdrawal form has been completed and turned into the office at AMP Athletics, your child is considered a enrolled student and full payment is expected.  Please do not rely on your student to verbally tell the coaches or offices stave that he/she will no longer be attending class.  If your student stops attending class without any notification then your account will be charged for the additional months payment.  This charge will be for holding the student's place in the class.  We appreciate everyone's cooperation in this matter, it helps us keep our class sizes small so each child gets proper instruction from our coaches.

  • If a class is DROPPED AFTER the new month is in progress, you remain responsible for the full month of classes.  NO CASH, CHECK, or CREDIT CARD refunds will be given.

  • Cancellation after 25th of the current month will result in a $25.00 CANCELLATION FEE that will be billed to your account.

Delinquent accounts

  • Accounts that have fallen 30 days past due, email notification will be issued from AMP Athletics. If payment has not been received and the account falls 60 days past due. Final notice will be sent, and 48 hours will be given to pay the balance.  Failure to do so will result in the removal of the student from the class to free space for students on our wait list. Once a child has been removed from a class, there are no guarantees that the spot in the class will be  still be available once the account is made current. Please help us avoid this situation, take advantage of our automatic payment system (See front desk for more information about setting up this feature).

Accessing Parent Portal

AMP Athletics parent portal is your access to your membership account at AMP. You can log in and check the status of your account, enroll in classes, enroll in specialty camps, or make a monthly payment. The parent portal is a way for you to have access to your gym information at all times.


To access your parent account: 

  1. Click on the Parent Portal tab located in the header.

  2. Select parent log in.

  3. Once at the log in enter your email that you used on your registration paperwork and the password you have been assigned. ampgymnastics

  4. Once you've entered your account review the policies and accept. These will be periodically updated so they may appear again in the future.

  5. Once you've accepted the policies please change your password to one of your choosing.

  • If your child is showing signs of illness or running a fever, please do not bring them to class. You may call the gym or log in to the parent portal and schedule a make-up lesson for the messed class.

Make-up Classes

Due to our student to instructor ratio, all make-up lessons must be scheduled in 

advanced. Any missed classes may be made up within 30 days of your absence. Any 

classes not made up within the 30 day period will be lost. 

  • You must be an actively enrolled student to qualify for any make-up classes.

  • Scheduled make-up classes can not be cancelled and made-up unless the absence is due to illness with a doctors excuse, or death in the family.

Inclement Weather

AMP Athletics will post gym closings due to weather on our Facebook page, website, and the AMP Athletics office answering machine. If unsure about the status of the gym due to the weather, please be sure to check one or all of these sources for confirmation.

  • Make-up classes are able to be scheduled due to gym closings.

  • AMP Athletics does not follow Cabell County School Closing.

Class Size

AMP Athletics is very conscientious of its class sizes. When you register your child for a class, you are ensuring your child a spot in that class time. We are very proud of our class student to coach ratios. The below class ratios are our standard guidelines, please keep in mind that these are only guidelines.

  • Preschool class ratios - 6:1 or 8:2

  • Recreational class ratios - 8:1 or 14:2

  • School/Team classes are assigned two instructors per group.

  • Recreational Sports classes are assigned two instructors over 9 students.


AMP Athletics encourages all parents to stay and observe classes. While watching classes there are a few things to remember.

  • For safety and insurance reasons, no parents will be allowed into the gym area unless accompanied by a instructor. Siblings who come to watch class are their parents responsibility, and cannot be left unsupervised.

  • Please refrain from coaching, talking to, or getting your child’s attention in any way during class. Interrupting classes could cause safety problems. If you need your child, please contact the person at the front desk and he/she will assist you.

  • After your child is called to class, parents are more than welcome to stay and watch. We have viewing available in our lobby and additional space on our mezzanine. 

  • No parents should be on the gym floor during class, unless taking class with their child.

  • Please make sure that your child does not bring valuable items to the gym. AMP Athletics will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • If you know that your child will be absent from class, please call us ahead of time.  If your child is sick, please call the office at your earliest convenience to schedule your make up class.  This also helps us maintain proper class rolls.

  • DO NOT LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED! This includes students and siblings. There is no running, jumping or horseplay allowed anywhere at AMP Athletics. All activities should be supervised by a parent or instructor and take place in the gym area. 
Early drop off/Late pick up

  • AMP Athletics does not take responsibility for any children left unsupervised before or after classes or special program/events. We do allow scheduled early drop off or late pick ups. These must be made in advanced. We understand that emergencies do arise and contact with the gym should be made immediately, if you will be late or you need an early drop off. Unscheduled early/late time before or after a scheduled program/event, will cause the assessment of a $5.00 charge per 15 minute. This fee will be billed to your account. Pleas call 304-523-4267 or 304-523-4268 if you are going to be late. REMEMBER, YOUR CHILD WORRIES ABOUT YOUR WHEN YOUR LATE.



  • Please keep all non-participating sibling with a parent or guardian at all times. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED ON ANY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT FOR SAFETY REASONS. This includes the toddler area on the mezzanine level. That area is not a playground, it is structured class area for toddlers. There is a designated play area in the main lobby for siblings. Please do not ever leave children, not currently in a class, unattended. The lobby and/or the mezzanine is not the place for tag, hide and seek or any other game involving running. Please help respect other waiting parents!

What to Wear/Lost Items

  • Clothing should not be excessively loose, it is a spotting hazard a coach can get tangled in loose items of clothing. Boy may wear tight fitting shirts and shorts. Gymnasts must wear leotards (required for all Pre-team and Competitive Gymnastics Programs). Hair should be pulled neatly and securely away from the face so that it up for the entire workout. All students should have activity appropriate footwear during class (Gymnastics: bare feet and Tumbling: tennis shoes).

  • Personal items should be left with a parent or in a cubby.

  • No dangling jewelry, hoop earrings, and/or belly piercings should be worn during class. These are a hazard to both the student and the coach.

  • AMP Athletics will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items. Be sure that your child's personal items are marked with their name and be sure to check your area as your leave the gym.

  • Lost and found is located in the brown chest at the bottom of the stairs, or you may check with the office.

AMP Athletics Parking Lot/Facility

Drivers in the parking lot need to stay alert for traffic, cars backing out, and departing and arriving students.  Please, be sure your son or daughter is actually in the gym prior to your leaving after dropping them off at the gym.

  • Children are not allowed outside the gym unless they are directly supervised by an adult.

  • There is no parking directly in front of the gym.  This is a drop off area only and for safety reason we ask that you do not park of leave your vehicle unattended in this area. 

Absolutely no food, gum, or candy is allowed inside the gym area or around the equipment, or spring floors.



AMP Athletics reserves the right to change polices and/or prices. Cancel classes or program and/or change staff or have substitute instructors.
